Dealing with God’s “No”

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

Because I Said So

Prayer is one of the best ways to communicate with God. It is a measure in which we can petition God to move throughout the many situations we encounter in life. Prayer can literally change things. I’ll be the first to admit that praying consistently is challenging. Especially when you have been praying for the same thing over and over and it seems like God is not responding.

It’s almost like growing up with parents who did not give you an answer when you asked for something or flat out said “no.” If your childhood was anything like mine everytime I asked why I could not do or have something the response was usually “because I said so.”

Sometimes prayer can feel like this. You ask God for a new job, to increase your finances, to be married, or for healing and yet nothing changes and you are left wondering why. Let me clear the air, God is not required to answer our prayers with a yes. He is similar to my parents in the sense that he is not obligated to give us an explanation for the decisions he makes.

However, God is loving, gentle, and intentional. He has proven himself trust worthy time and time again. So we must begin to change our attitude towards the role God and prayer has in our lives. Prayer is not only a time to petition to God but it is a time to pay attention to God.

Pray this prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me to fully trust your judgement even when I do not understand the reason. I believe that you will cause all things to work for my good. Thank you for the times you answered my prayers with a “no.” Although I cannot yet see it, I know that you will bless me with something far greater than what I thought I wanted. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Walk in the Spirit

Advertisements
25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:25

We must let the Word of God steer our lives course. Live in the Spirit. Walk in the Spirit. Conduct your daily affairs by submitting and surrendering to His Word. Surrender to His Counsel. Let His Word fill every area of your heart. Choose to trust in Him. Choose to walk according to His principles and precepts as you read this heart-transforming post.

Let Christ dwell in every aspect of your life — even in the dark places. He exposes the hidden things. Let His Spirit crush everything that’s not like Him. His Power coat every part of your life. Let His Spirit break every generational bondage, yoke, addiction, generational pattern, and principle that has held you hostage to the world’s way of doing things. Choose to be set free in Christ.

Christ reshapes and restructures your way of thinking. Let His Power rebuild you. Let Christ reframe your thinking. You are new in Christ. In Him, you are complete. Let His Power transform you from the inside out.

133 Direct my footsteps according to your word;
let no sin rule over me. Psalm 119: 133

What’s Controlling You?

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.” Galatians‬ ‭5:16-17‬

When you walk in the Spirit, and live your life as His Spirit orders your steps — you will reap God‘s results. You follow God’s Way of doing things, He will lead and guide your path. When His Word orders your steps, sin and lust does not have dominion or authority over you. Choose to let Christ have dominion in every area of your heart.

For we live by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

Walk by Faith

Choose to believe God. Choose to believe His Word. When things are dark around you, choose to lean upon God’s Word. When things are cloudy, choose to be guided by His Counsel. Feed yourself His Word daily. Meditate and focus on His Word both day and night. When you’re walking by faith, you’re choosing to be led by His Word and not by how you may feel. When God tells you to do something, choose to submit and surrender to His command.

Walk in faith and trust God. Choose to trust God. Let His Word regulate your mind, thoughts, and actions.  Let God strengthen your faith as you go.

Choose to obey God. Let God lead your path. Obey Him. Choose to ignore the noise around you and obey God. As you execute upon His Word, choose to diligently obey Him in every area of your life.‬‬

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬
