Life-changing power!

Advertisements

Life- changing power. With a frequency that is amazing, the Bible affirms the fact of the bodily resurrection of Christ.

Jesus rose to life, Romans 14

For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. Romans 14: 9

life-Changing Power

Perhaps the most direct of all its statements is Luke’s account in the book of Acts, where he reports, “After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.” (Acts 1:3). What are we going to do with these “many infallible proofs”? Ask some people how much they know about God. Some may say: “I don’t know much, but what I do know has changed my life.”

We may not be able to take all of this evidence into a scientific laboratory and prove it; but, if we accept any fact of history, we must accept the fact that Jesus Christ rose from the dead with Life-changing power!

Laziness Ruins Happiness

Advertisements What Makes Diligence a Virtue? Most people do not want to be thought of as lazy — as a person averse to hard work. We all know laziness is a vice — a corrupting and addicting use of a good gift: rest. Leisure in proper doses is a wonderful, refreshing gift of God. But habitualContinue reading →

Follow what is Good!

Advertisements

Follow what is good, pleasant, honourable, trustworthy and without reproach — Choose to follow Christ, the Great Shepherd. He is our Saviour. He is our Redeemer. He is our King. There is no one like Him — in Heaven or on Earth. Surrender your heart to Him.

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd John 10:11,14-16.

Follow What is Good

13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?” 1 Peter‬ ‭3:13‬ ‬‬

God will not harm you. He will lead you through the valley. He will guide you through the desert. He will guide you through the storm. There is no one like Christ. Surrender every area of your heart over to Him. Follow His Way of doing things. There is no other god, idol or image that can take His place. Let Christ reign on the throne of your heart.

Christ wants to lead you. He wants to guide you. He wants to navigate your course. The Blood of Jesus Christ has the power to set you free. His Blood will take away your sin, bondage and entanglement. Choose to repent and turn to Him. There is no entanglement that can keep you bound. He has all authority and power in His Hands. Nothing can defeat Him. No other god, idol or image can overthrow Him. He is God. He is Sovereign. There is no one like Him.

Your heart is yearning to fill a void that only Christ can fill. The things of this world cannot satisfy your soul. The things of this world cannot fill the void of your heart. Only Christ can heal you. Only Christ can satisfy you. Only Christ can set you free. Choose to follow Christ. Only Christ can make you whole. Let His Love heal you from the inside out. Choose to follow Him.

No Other gods

“You shall have no other gods before me”. Exodus‬ ‭20:3

Choose to turn to Christ. Choose not to follow after other gods. Choose not to surrender to the idols and strange things of this world. Surrender your heart to Him. Surrender your heart to Christ — the True and Living God.

He is the Way in the Wilderness. He will lift you up out of your pit. He will crush every form of bondage. He will break every yoke of darkness. He will loose the bands of depression. There is nothing that can stop Him. There is nothing that can defeat Him. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. John‬ ‭14:6‬ declares, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

God loves you so much that He sent His Only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins. Romans‬ ‭6:23‬‬‬ declares, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The wages of sin is death. The wages of worshipping other gods is death — not just a physical death, but a spiritual withering that leads to both natural and spiritual death.

When you choose worship (or give your heart over to) something or someone other than God, you’ll begin to spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially and mentally wither. You belong to Christ. You were created by God for a Purpose. Redirect your worship and focus on Him. Redirect your focus. Redirect the song of your heart. Choose to worship Christ and Christ alone.

Your heart is longing to commune with Christ. Your heart is longing to connect with Him. Don’t give your heart to another. Choose not to serve any other god. Exodus‬ ‭34:14‬ ‭ declares, “Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” He is Jealous. God will not have any other gods, or god-substitutes, sitting on the throne of your heart. Surrender to Christ the King.

Deuteronomy‬ ‭4:24‬ declares, “For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.” Let God consume everything that’s not like Him. Let His Holy Fire burn up everything that has entangled your heart. Let His Fire destroy every bondage. Let His Fire destroy every stronghold. Let His Fire destroy condemnation. God is greater than your sin — He is good and His Mercy endureth forever.

Psalm‬ ‭107:1‬ declares, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” He is good. Surrender to Him. Surrender to His Word. Surrender and bow to His Power and Authority. Surrender to His Counsel — His Counsel is His Word. Lay aside every weight. Lay aside every distraction and choose to follow God. Who has your heart? What has your heart?

Choose to follow Christ’s Way of doing things. ‭“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,” Hebrews‬ ‭12:1‬‬‬

The Ungodly

“Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭1:1-2‬

Pattern yourself after His Word. Follow His Blueprint. Christ wants to lead and direct your path. Let His Word navigate your path in every season of life. Let His Word light your course. Let His Counsel lead your heart. Let His Counsel lead your family. Let His Word light your family’s course.

God wants to lead every aspect of your life — if you let Him. Psalms 1:1-2 declares, “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” Choose to delight in the Word of God day and night. Choose to habitually digest His Word day and night.

Choose to focus on the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God. Surrender to His Voice. John‬ ‭10:14-15‬‬‬ declares,  “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.” Surrender to God and let Him lead your path. ‭‭

Psalm‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭declares, “That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.” As you surrender to God, He will lead and direct your path. He will cause everything that you touch to prosper. Build up a diligent prayer regimen. Seek Him. Surrender to Him. His Word will lead, guide and direct your path.

James‬ ‭1:8‬‬‬ declares, “Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do” Choose a side. Who will you serve? A double-minded man (or woman) is unstable in all of their ways. Everything that he or she touches is unstable.

A man of two minds (double-minded) is unreliable. A double-minded man is always hesitating. Choose a side — who will you serve? Who will you worship? “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24:15‬‬‬.

Choose to serve the Lord. Choose to follow Christ.
