The Lord is Good!

Take refuge in Abba Father!

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8

To know that God is good, you have to have a relationship with Him. It is the same with a human relationship. You have to try out and cultivate the relationship with the other person. To really get to know Him, you’ve got to cultivate a relationship with Him. You have to get to know Him. How do you get to know our Father? You can pray, you can read your Bible and meditate on Scripture, you can listen to teachings on YouTube or a Podcast, you can be in fellowship with others and cultivate a relationship with God together. You will find out each and every time that God is good.

The beauty of getting to know God, the beauty of taking refuge in Him, is you will realise that you can trust Him 100%. God is always dependable and always available to you. He loves you the same today and the same every day. God is always the same. He’s faithful, and as you get to know Him, you begin to trust Him more.

Similarly, the first few pages of a book sets the stage for what is to come. The introduction provides the theme of the story that will continue to reveal itself throughout the book – the goodness of the story begins to flow. Throughout scripture, we see the same thing – a story and a reminder of things that were and how God showed His goodness to His people.

God is Good All the Time! All the Time God is Good!

Psalm 34:8 says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” When you have had the fullness of God, you won’t desire anything else. In Genesis, Eve tasted the forbidden fruit and gained the knowledge of good and evil. In her pursuit, she tasted a “worldly” goodness that did not satisfy her because it wasn’t “the good” that God intended for her.

The world says: “after we eat, we go hungry once again”. Our stomachs go empty and they begin to gurgle and grumble. The same is true for our spiritual lives – if we are not in constant relationship with the Father, our spirits will hunger for more.

As you get to know God, you begin to realize how good He is!

Laziness Ruins Happiness

Advertisements What Makes Diligence a Virtue? Most people do not want to be thought of as lazy — as a person averse to hard work. We all know laziness is a vice — a corrupting and addicting use of a good gift: rest. Leisure in proper doses is a wonderful, refreshing gift of God. But habitualContinue reading →

Release Your Regrets

Your regret may have been something you did that put distance between you and God. Letting go of that regret will requireContinue reading →

Prayer for My Spouse!

10  wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. Proverbs 31:10-11

Heavenly Father,

This beautiful morning, I pray for my wife, that she may know the confidence to know that Jesus gave His life, His love for her to show.

This beautiful morning, I pray for my wife, who is my best friend, each and every day, that God will give her wisdom as she goes along her day.

This beautiful morning, I pray that You will comfort her, give her strength and courage as she passes through life’s valleys.

This beautiful morning, I pray for her, my love, to show the lost she cares.
Tell them of your Saviour’s love so they become aware of what He did to save us from our sins.

This beautiful morning, I pray for my wife and thank the Lord each day
for giving her to me as special as she is all the way You are not only my wife but also my best friend.

This beautiful morning, I pray to all God’s angels that they protect you wherever you are right now and be with you even at home.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

The Gospel of John – Walk on Water

Advertisements This is the by far one my favourite signs and wonders Jesus performs. In this part of John’s account of the Gospel, Jesus walks on water, we’ll get to the details in a bit. There are similar accounts of this story in the Gospel of Matthew 14:22-33 and Mark 6: 45-52, but it isContinue reading →

The Gospel of John – Supernatural Overflow

Advertisements This is the only miracle recorded in all four Gospel accounts (Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:30-44; Luke 9:10-17; John 6:1-15), which shows it is very significant to Jesus’ mission and so we won’t forget how much the Lord can do with the little things that are given to Him. The feeding of the 5 000Continue reading →

The Gospel of John – Testimonies about Jesus

Advertisements Jesus continues his response to His critics in Jerusalem. Up to now, Jesus has healed a crippled man on the Sabbath and He has claimed to be equal with God in works, love, judgment and honour. Now, Jesus speaks about the evidence to His claims. Jesus does not just say: “Have faith” or “believeContinue reading →

Daily Prayer – Just for Today!

Prayer just for today!

16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Luke 5:16

Advertisements

Heavenly Father, I thank You for this day. I thank You for me being able to be awake again, to see and hear the morning. I am blessed because You are a forgiving Father and an understanding one at that. You have done marvellous things for me and my loved ones yet You still continue to bless me with so much more. Please forgive me every day for some things I may have done, said or thought that may not have pleased You and I ask You now for your forgiveness. Please keep me and my loved ones from all danger and harm. Help me start this day with a new, pleasant attitude with plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so I can hear Your loving voice. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things without judgement. Let me not whine or complain over things I have no control over. And when the world closes in on me, let me remember the example of Jesus, to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. Continue to use me to do Your Will. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Move far away from the shallow

Advertisements Reflecting on the last wrote on this subject, I spoke about a song, an earworm, that I had playing in my mind over and over. Well, 2 days later and it’s still there. The song, “Shallow,” a duet by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper from the movie “A Star is Born“. To view the firstContinue reading →
