12 Fruits of the Spirit

Daily Prayer – 14 June

Heavenly Father, you renew your Spirit in us continually and we thank you. Your Spirit helps us understand Jesus Christ and to follow Him, thank you. Let the revelation of Your Spirit come to all people of the world, a new outpouring over us, in each of our hearts. You are a just God and sin is punished, for this reason we honour You for your justice that the world suffers through from Your judgement. No one, not even the devil himself, can change your will. Your will is carried out through the Holy Spirit. Our task is simply to follow Jesus all our days. This shall be our joy, this priceless gift of following the Lord Jesus. Praise to Your name that we have Him and His witness in the gospel every day. Praise to Your name that every day, even through great distress, we can find joy as we follow Him in the strength of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name, Amen.

When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. John 16:8-11

Daily Prayer – 12 June

Advertisements Lighthouse prayer Heavenly Father, show us, teach us to see others as You would see them, through Your eyes. Help us use the truth as a lighthouse that guides us safely into the harbour. And grace as an outreached hand to the weary. Help us to be Your disciples and faithful fishers of men.Continue reading →

Knowing and Believing

In the last post about our Identity in Christ, we left of with the question “Who am I?” This question reminds me of a song by Casting Crowns – Who Am I

View the previous post here : What God says, goes!

For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3

For all of us, this is a question we ask ourselves many times in our lives. Throughout life, as we experience new things and matures we ask – yet again  Who am I? What have I allowed to drown out God’s voice for me?

We have and will always have our living God, His Living Word and the Holy Spirit. We know who we are in Christ because God has told us already. God alone has the final say on who we are – your social media feed, your successes or failures, your parents, your boss, your friends, your worst enemies and even ourselves have no say over who we truly are. By following Jesus, we know that God has determined our identity and shaped us how He wants us. His Word counts!!

We have to know. we have to believe, what God says, if we truly want to live out the life God has purposed for us – a life of righteousness, holiness, beauty and for His glory – To know is the start, to believe it will determine the direction for our lives. Our words, thoughts and actions begin to manifest and reflect the beauty of our identity, straight from Scripture and the heart of God, only once these truths take hold in our hearts and minds to the point that we believe them.

Follow the Scriptures below and note down a verse that really speaks to you about your true identity. Ask God to enlighten the eyes of your heart to see, know, and believe!

20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Thanksgiving and Prayer

1For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people Ephesians 1:15-18

Living as Those Made Alive in Christ

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3

May we believe the truth about who we are as outlined by God alone and believe what He victoriously declares about who we are in Jesus.
