Daily Prayer – For my earthly Father

My Dad!

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

Heavenly Father, how I bless and thank You for placing me in my family and for the blessing of my dear father, who gave me life. Thank You for the joy and fun that we have shared together over the years, and for his wonderful example and trust in You. Thank You for his wisdom, his patience and the many lessons that he taught me as I was growing. Thank You for his strength in times of difficulty, his wisdom in times of trouble, his honesty in times of correction, his gentleness in times of pain, and thank You that he taught me about Jesus from childhood.

I pray that You will be with him and take care of him. Keep him from all harm and danger. Prepare and renew his heart for each day so he may be a good and faithful servant. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Daily Prayer – Contented Morning!

Advertisements Contentment in the morning! 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 1 Timothy 6:6-8 Prayer Heavenly Father, I pray that I will stay focused on You today. You areContinue reading →

Move far away from the shallow

Advertisements Reflecting on the last wrote on this subject, I spoke about a song, an earworm, that I had playing in my mind over and over. Well, 2 days later and it’s still there. The song, “Shallow,” a duet by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper from the movie “A Star is Born“. To view the firstContinue reading →

Grace! Grace!

Trust God with the work He gives you!

“What are you, great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain. And he will bring out the capstone accompanied by shouts of: Grace, grace to it! ”
Zechariah 4:7

Zerubbabel was entrusted by God to rebuild the temple. Here the Lord is affirming Zerubbabel’s purpose, to have faith. That with shouts he will bring the capstone with shouts of Grace Grace.

A capstone is the final building block in a building. This verse tells us that Zerubbabel will complete the temple and there will be shouts of grace.

So too, we should trust God with the tasks He trusts us with. Complete your task and you will also hear shouts of Grace!

Release Your Regrets

Advertisements Once you have recognised your regret for what it is, you are then ready for the next step: release your regrets. Ask yourself these five questions: Do you regret committing a sin? Suffering for Christ!

Advertisements

Do not be ashamed as a Christian!

Advertisements

16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. 1 Peter 4: 16

Believers must reject any shame for genuinely suffering for the sake of Jesus. We should boldly give glory to God, in the name of Christ, right in the middle of our suffering for Him.

It is an honour to carry the title of Christian, if it truly indicates our identity in Christ, and our place in God’s family forever. In a world that ridicules Christianity and Christian values, this is a honour to physical persecution. If we are different enough from the world, and close enough to being Christ-like, Christ centered, that the world hates us, it is a sign we are doing Christianity right!
