PRAYER AND ACTION GO HAND-IN-HAND?

Advertisements

We are not in control – God is! Trust in Him. Drop to your knees and pray! Get closer to Him. Hear His voice. Then follow His instructions!

I lift my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD. The maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip — He who watches over you — The LORD is your shade at your right hand, the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm — He will watch over your life, the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Psalm 121: 1-8

Out of control

Can I be honest? The start of this pandemic seemed manageable BUT as the weeks and months drag on, it’s hard to feel like we have control over anything in life anymore. And let me tell you — this helpless feeling we are experiencing is EXHAUSTING!!! But maybe, just maybe that’s exactly what’s intended to happen during this time. Perhaps this season is here to knock us down and push us closer to our Father, to remind us that prayer and action go hand-in-hand.

Bartimeus the blind beggar was marginalized, rediculed and rebuked, but still he continued to shout louder for Jesus even though the people around him were telling him to keep quite. Mark’s account of this tells us that the blind beggar, THREW OFF HIS CLOAK to go to Jesus. His ONE possession he knew he probably would not be able to find amongst the vast crowd. It’s as if he was saying, “I won’t be needing this…” Bartimeus believed that Jesus could heal him and that was why he cried out to Jesus. “Son of David have mercy on me….” Jesus not only healed his sight but saved his soul. Bartimeus immediately started following and praising Jesus…

How is your Faith?

Friends, How is your faith? Do you have outrageous faith like blind Bartimeus? I don’t know what personal battles you are facing right now, or what overwhelming situation is up against you. But know this… God’s grace saves us through faith, not through anything we can do ourselves. Just as Bartimeus was healed physically, we too can be healed spiritually when we come to Jesus by faith. And God hears our prayers, BUT still wants us to ask, Jesus knew what Bartimeus wanted, yet He asked, “what do you want…”

Your faith is the key that unlocks miracles. Don’t give up, keep persisting and keep calling out to Jesus until He answers. Amen God bless.

Blessings and Love…
