26 “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10: 26-31
Heavenly Father, You hold all power and victory in Your hand. Thank You for being the fighter of my battles. Abba Father, I confess that I have been to busy to hear Your voice and have pursued my own will instead of Your will for my life. Father, I confess that I have hurt people in my own hurt. I thank You for forgiving me and for making my crooked paths straight.
Jesus, I thank You that Your blood covers a multitude of my sins. I pray, Jesus, that You work things out according to the will You have already spoken. I give You custody of my life.
Abba Father, I know that You are my peace, so I ask that You bring me peace. I pray that You increase my faith that I may be protected from the attacks of the enemy. I thank You, Father, that You will expose every lie and redeem me with truth. Father, sharpen my discernment so I will know who is for me and who is not. Help me to forgive those who have broken my heart. Give me the ability to stand in victory without worrying about those who have hurt me because of their own pain. Do not allow me to fall prey to the hands of the enemy. In Jesus Name, Amen.
In Matthew 10:26-31, Jesus says three times, “Do not be afraid.” Three times. When something is repeated in scripture, pay attention.
for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known (10:26). Christians faithfully reveal God’s truth, and at the end, God will faithfully reveal our intent and integrity. Therefore, we are not to keep quiet about what we know, “What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs” (10:27), even if it brings hatred and persecution. We plainly declare all that we have learned from and about Jesus. Fear Not!
Our fear of God should be greater than our fear of those who can only hurt us temporarily. Therefore.”Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (10:28) Fear Not!
So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. (10:31) Jesus tells His disciples that not one, not one, sparrow falls to the ground apart from the Father’s knowing and accompanying. The bird does still fall, but it does not fall apart from the Father. Likewise, this Word does not protect Christians from pain, hatred and even death. This is great love. No Fear!
All things will be revealed, our souls will live forever, and we are loved more than we will ever know or understand.
So, we speak Jesus boldly and live our faith loudly. No whispering, no anxiety, no fear.
